We have had Mel’s expert support right from the get go, even before our puppy came to live with us. 18 months on, we have a happy healthy puppy and we feel confident about dealing with the various ups and downs of puppy development. Mel was so responsive, and our one -to one sessions were tailored to our specific needs and questions. She was able to give us advice on everything from the right harnesses, changing dietary needs, adolescent behavioural issues, providing stimulation, and brokering peace with our resident cat.
Mel draws on the latest research and wisdom, giving carefully considered advice and hands on training support. I would highly recommend that anyone considering getting a puppy gets in touch with Mel even before puppy comes home to give you the absolute best start.

We were almost at breaking point with our now 7 month old cockapoo. Barking, biting and zero recall. Lots of tears (from me) and an overall feeling of not being sure we could carry on! That’s when we reached out to Mel…Mel has helped us immensely with training our pup and getting us all in a better routine, with great advice along the way! Mel is super professional and very knowledgeable. I would highly recommend Mel.

Mel has been an absolute saviour over the last 3 months with our Labrador puppy Juno. She's helped us since week 1 with all aspects of training, doing 121 training with us as well as taking Juno out on her own and reporting back on tips and tricks to try with Juno on our own. With a toddler in the house ensuring Juno was calm and content was an absolute priority and with Mel's help I'm so happy that at almost 5 months old we've achieved this! I could highly recommend Mel to anyone who wants help in training - she's sent videos, emails, texts and obviously helped hugely in person. We can't thank Mel enough!

It has been wonderful having Mel’s advise us on our new Jackapoo puppy Merlin. We feel in very good hands with her. She's hugely knowledgable, experienced, and dedicated to helping people give their dogs the best life they can. She was there from the start advising on approaches to his first week with us, directing us to the best kinds of food and high-value treats, sending useful video and articles, and advising on the best gear to get. We didn't waste time on getting it wrong, Mel helped us cut straight to the good stuff. We still have a lot to learn but it's great to know we can call on her as and when we need, to help us keep on the right track. I really feel Mel's input has made a great difference and will help us give Merlin a healthy, happy, and enjoyable life with us.

Mel has been amazing helping us with our puppy. We have had 2 sessions with Mel and both have made such a difference in our pup’s behaviour. Mel’s approach and training is practical and has given us skills that we can see working for our dog throughout her life.

Mel has been absolutely brilliant in so many ways, she has been an all-round massive help for me as a first time dog owner; talking through issues that have popped up before I got my puppy and in the first few months, Mel’s also provided amazing recommendations for food that my puppy has loved - all my dogs meals and treats are suggestions from Mel. Talking through how to get my flat ready to welcome a dog into my life and steering me in the right direction on training and trouble shooting on problems I have encountered. It’s been a totally life changing experience to get a dog and I would have been lost without Mel’s professional advice and support.

Mel is meticulous and thoughtful in terms of her approach to a problem. She works out a solution that is practical for the owner and successful for the dog. A very gentle person who is creative and fun. Most recently she has helped me (successfully) with my very opinionated dachsie in re-learning crate training for an impending operation. I thoroughly recommend Mel.

Mel helped me find the perfect adult rescue dog for my family. She really understood what would work with my existing dog, child and geographical area. I have also asked her for her help on a training issue, but the dog was such a good match, there haven't been many problems. Mel's advice was invaluable and I cannot recommend her knowledge and skills highly enough.

With Mel's help we've become much more confident managing our dogs, and they seem happier and more engaged with us. She's shown us an absolute host of tips, tricks and ideas to help us make them a happy part of the family, and it makes me so proud when we bump into her in the park and she can see the progress we've made!

Mel at Nose to Tail is brilliant. She took our crazy little puppy in hand (and us very naive owners) and showed us all the skills needed to train, crate train, walk, what to feed etc etc. She never balked at our crazy questions. Could not recommend her more highly.

We first approached Mel when our puppy, Leo, had been home for a few weeks and we were feeling overwhelmed with conflicting advice from books and the internet. Mel was very calm and immediately understood Leo. Our biggest issue was getting him to settle down at home and understand his own tiredness and her advice worked really quickly, which was revolutionary at the time when we were feeling very sleep deprived. We also worked with her on things like demand barking, puppy nipping, loose lead walking, recall training, and appropriate interactions with humans and dogs. She was patient, non-judgemental and gave workable solutions to the issues we encountered, always with positive reinforcement. We remain forever grateful for the work that we did with Mel, as we now have a confident boy, who is a joy to walk, happy to spend time in human environments and is able to settle at home.
